Hi, I'm Connie & welcome to Safe Place Therapy!

 

SPT was founded in September of 2023 with the dream to help support others in finding safety in their journeys. We aim to provide psychotherapy and counselling services to support youths (ages 14 and up), adolescents, adults, families, and individuals within the LGBTQ+ community, and others, in the Durham Region and surrounding areas.

Our reason why...

A little TMI...but have you ever felt like you were on your own, couldn't safely turn to anyone, or were scared to express yourself...yet ironically, you were that safe person for everyone else?

That. Was. Me.

This was the ultimate reason why I do what I do. I didn't shy away from it, I embraced it by turning my gift into a passion and always be a Safe Place for others so they wouldn't have to walk alone, ever. I enjoyed being that shoulder for others to lean on, giving them that strength to move forward, to navigate their challenges, and watching them flourish with the help of someone taking the weight off their own shoulders. It made me realize that trust and kindness are such important pieces for connection. 

And boom...a psychotherapist was born!
